The Spot 143 Simply Succulents

Good Morning!!! Have you guys missed me?? I have a ton of good excuses but none that would hold much validity except for, Family. Family always comes first, and honestly I was so swamped with a virtual craft fair (Which I will do again) and dealing with kids "holiday" schedules, life and family just got in the way. So I am getting back into my groove and trying to store away all of the holly and the jolly!

Today I am back creating with The Spot Creative Challenge Design Team!  I was excited to NOT be creating Christmas or Holiday themed cards. I took a bit of a avant-garde to our sketch with a new bundle! The Simply Succulents Bundle will be available to you on January 5th, 2021. Can you believe that next year is just a week away?!

I started with a white card front. First I stamped it with Versamark ink and sprinkled it with Gold Stampin' Emboss powder to heat emboss it. I matched up the pattern stamped in Soft Seafoam ink with a circle from Stitched Shapes Dies. Before deciding on what sentiment I wanted to use I decided to use our new Blending Brushes to add a bit of Blackberry Bliss and Soft Seafoam softly in the back ground. The sentiment is also from the Simply Succulents, and it too is heat embossed in Gold to coordinate with the back ground. It is accented with a Metallic Pearls and Basic Clear Rhinestones. I chose to matte this up on Blackberry Bliss card stock and it sits nicely on a Soft Seafoam card base..

I can't wait to see what you create with this weeks sketch!! Have an amazing New Year!

The Spot 139 Case the Designer

Happy Tuesday to you all! I hope that you all had an amazing holiday last week! We have done a great job eating left overs and the only thing that is left is that Green Beans Parmesan and I don't mind eating them!

This week the The Spot Creative Team is creating designs by theme CASE The Designer and this week that is ME! I can't wait to see what you all decide to case, I will show you the card I chose. It was really hard to CASE my self and I probably put too much thought into it!

I made this card quite some time ago with the now retired Painted Harvest. I remember mixing the textures for this amazing fall like card. I decided to use the Poinsettia Petals Bundles to recreate this card. Let me show you what I have created!

My card started with the Poinsettia created with Cherry Cobbler ink on our Fluid 100 paper. I then used our Watercolor Pencils to finish it off. I decided to do the same technique with Garden Green and the leaves before die cutting all of it with coordinating dies. I used our new Blending Brushes with Bumblebee ink and created a soft golden back ground before stamping the stems on there too. The wood grain DSP from Poinsettia Place was a nice added touch with the coordinating velum piece. This is accented with the InColor Enamel Dots and Metallic Pearls. The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake. It sits so nicely on a layer of Cherry Cobbler card stock with a base of Bumblebee!

I can't wait to see what you create!! I am so excited to see what designs of mine inspire YOU!

The Spot Challenge #106 Modern Heart

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday from the frozen tundra of Colorado... Who knew that 3 days ago that it was over 70 Degrees, I had on a tank top and even got a bit of sunburn. The pigs are nestled down in there houses and Taryn did her first virtual pig show! She did a great job for never showing pigs before!

This week The Spot Creative Challenge has one of my favorite colors combos as a challenge for you! Petal Pink, Gray Granite, and any thing metal! This could be Foils, Glimmer Paper, Embellishments, and of course Heat Embossing. It is a color combo I use A LOT and I really struggled with doing something that I hadn't done or was a bit replayed! Let me show you what I have created.

When the Annual Catalog came out last year, Modern Heart was one of the FIRST sets that I purchased, I used it a couple times and put it away. So with the retiring list coming out in just a couple weeks, I felt like I needed to bring this one out again!
I started by stamping the large heart on Gray Granite with Versamark so that I could heat emboss the design with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. Then I fussy cut this and set it aside. I had actually started this card with whole other idea, which is where the Corrugated embossed Petal Pink piece came from. It is nicely layered over a strip of Copper Foil. I created the background using the other stamps from the Modern Heart Stamp set. With the Petal Pink wash look. Gray Granite smaller hearts and Petal Pink mini hearts. It was a great touch with under my accent strips. I adhered the heart with the Stampin' Dimensionals over the strips. The sentiment was stamped in Gray Granite over the Petal Pink swoosh. I die cut this with one of the Rectangle Stitched Dies. A nice Whisper White Bakers Twine with few Metallic Pearls was the perfect touch. This is nicely layered onto a Gray Granite layer and a Petal Pink card base.

I can't wait to see what you create with this oh so pretty color challenge!
Have an amazing day!

Kylie's International Highlights February Winners Blog Hop

It is an amazing Monday here in Colorado. We have rain, two kids at school and one home with a fever. Thankfully at this point Joshua and I have been spared from the cooties! HURRY! KNOCK ON WOOD!!!
I am so excited to be hopping with Kylie's International Blog Highlights Winners Hop! A huge and speciaal shout out to Kylie Bertucci for this opportunity! It is my first time participating and I am so looking forward to it! We are hopping with a Thank You theme, and to be honest... I was stumped! How is it that I went into my craft room THIS MORNING and whipped up a card this morning without any problems?! I have combined the So Sentimental Bundle with the Dressed to Impress bundle and paired it up with the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. Let me show you what I have created!

This card started with the sentiment stamped in Basic Gray and die cut with the coordinating dies from the So Sentimental Bundle. I just love this sheet of the Best Dressed DSP. The florals in this pack are amazing and do NOT get enough credit. I decided to stamp the flowers from the Dressed to Impress Bundle using Memento Tuxedo Black ink so that I could use my Purple Posy and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. I even added a bit of Old Olive on the leaves before die cutting with the coordinating dies. I had a strip of Petal Pink that had been embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder left over from another project and decided to add it as a little layer with a touch of Gold Foil that was die cut with the small stitched like tag from the Dressed to Impress Bundle. The flowers were added to my sentiment with glue dots and was the perfect accent. This was adhered to my card front with Stampin' Dimensionals over a bit of Linen Thread. I accented this with a few Gold Metallic Pearls. This is all layered onto a piece of Purple Posy card stock on a base of Basic Card stock.

I can't wait for you to see what the rest of the participants have created for you today! You can find a full list below! Happy Hopping!

TGIF Challenge 226 Modern Heart Splatter

Happy Friday!!! Are you ready for the weekend!? The kids are not back at school until next week! The days are being counted...trust me!!! Wesley has a football scrimmage tomorrow! The kid is pumped for football this year. It kind of took me by surprise. He tends to always take the easy road, so I thought that after playing last year... this year was questionable. I am excited too, I like being the loudest mom there!

The TGIF Challenges has a fun and what can be messy challenge for you this week! The challenge this week is Splatter and we all know I love to splatter!

Confession time, this card has been made for a while now... I actually used it as a swap card when the Annual Catalog went live in June. Let me show you what I have made!

This card started with my Whisper White card front. I have found that using an old Aqua Painter with a mixture of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Water is the best way for me to make my splatters. Once you have splattered this mixture you sprinkle what ever embossing powder you would like! I chose to use the Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. You will want to be sure you use your embossing buddy when doing this that way the powder doesn't stick in places you don't want it to! A nice Gold Foil banner was perfect with this. The heart is also heat embossed in gold over a background of Flirty Flamingo this great stamp is from the Modern Heart stamp set. I chose to use the largest stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut this out. It is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals over the banner and some Whisper White Bakers Twine! The sentiment is stamped in Gray Granite and then also die cut with Stitched Shapes Dies. To give a bit more umph, I have added a few Metallic Pearls for some visual texture.

I can't wait to see the beautiful mess that you make for this challenge! Thanks for stopping by!!!

TGIF 175 Varied Vases Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

Friday! Friday! Friday is my favorite day! Especially on a long weekend! We got home late last night from Wesley's first middle school game! You can tell that the kids had jitters and were a little bit nervous! They had great attitudes for the 7th grade game. The second game was for 8th grade! It was a barn burner 24-20 them! We lost a player at half time. Wesley was super emotional! We will be saying a prayer for that kiddo!

This week with TGIF We have a challenging Tic Tac Toe! I couldn't wrap my head around a clear concise idea. Clean And Simple is an esthetic that I truly struggle with and saw this as an opportunity to try it out! I made my three in a row by going straight across, let me show you my card!

This great card started with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the stemmed flower with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Stampin' Blends in Highland Heather and Lovely Lipstick with some Granny Apple Green stems! The Artisan Textures has a little stamp that makes the appearance of a shadow or table top. I have also taken one of the vase stamps and created a vase using Gorgeous Grape in the Brights Designer Series Paper pack and adhered it over my flowers. A few Silver Metallic Pearls, Silver and White Bakers Twine and a simple Thanks sentiment and my card front was done! It is nicely matted using Lovely Lipstick Card Stock with a Gorgeous Grape Card Base!

I can't wait to see what you all create for this challenge! Happy Stamping!
