Creation Station Texture Blog Hop

Happy 4th of July! Today is going to be a day full of laughter, friends both new and old and food! I spent most of yesterday making up things for a feast tonight. We are doing burgers, brats and Hot Dogs with the potato salad, pasta salad, deviled eggs and I whipped a 7-Layer dip. I am sure there is more food coming but I don't know what everyone else is bringing! Wesley and I went to the firework stand to get some fireworks to light at home. Lets hope that Mother Nature cooperates!

It has been a while since I hopped with the Creation Station team! If you have read my blog over the last few weeks, I have a good excuse. Although this months theme of "Texture", I couldn't wait to hop along! Today I have created this cheerful "Feel Better Soon" card with the What A Year Memories & More Card Pack and the Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set. Lets take a look!

This little cutie started with the What A Year Memories & More Card Pack. My goal when I started to brain storm was to not use the Pattern Party or the In Good Taste paper packs. As those seem to be my go to lately. I rummaged the pack of cards and settled on the Polished Pink plaid like card and the lined card with the flowers. I cut the plaid down to a 3.75" x 5" card front. To add a bit of visual texture I used the Stitched with Whimsy dies. On the smaller card, I simply rounded the corners with our Detailed Trio Punch and added a hole for the ribbons. The plaid was then adhered with Stampin' Seal to a Pool Party Cardstock Mat. The tag was accented with the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon and Bumblebee Gingham. A bit of Basic White Bakers Twine was tied around it. My Label Me Lovely Punch of Polished Pink was embossed with one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. The cute little striped strip was also from one of the smaller cards in the Memories and More pack. I cut it into about a 1/2" strip. The heat embossed sentiment from the Hand Penned Petals stamp set in white was perfect for my Bumblebee die cut from the Tasteful Labels Dies!

I have adhered the Bumblebee circle to the strip with a bit of Stampin' Seal before adding the twine and adhering it to the Label Me Lovely Punch with Stampin' Dimensionals. The finishing touch for this adorable card was the Playing With Pattern Resin Dots mixed with a couple Basic Rhinestones!

I am so glad that you stopped by today! I can't wait for you to see what my amazingly talented best friend Jeanna has created for you! You can get to her by clicking the next button below! Have an amazing Sunday!

The Spots #155 Spring Has Sprung

Happy Spring! I can't believe we are nearing the end of March already! Our family had amazing spring break spent with family! We went to a small indoor waterpark in Kansas, had some retail therapy and ate some really good food! It was a much needed break!

This week I am back with the The Spot design team for a fabulous Spring Has Sprung themed challenge! I know that many of us would think of Dragonflies for summer, but it is in our spring Mini-Catalog and I found that it worked! Let me show you what I have created!

This card has been made for MONTHS! I can't believe that I hadn't blogged it yet and it worked out well because I was struggling to create ANYTHING yesterday! The card started with an Early Espresso stamped off Dragonfly from the Dragonfly Garden Bundle. The wings have a bit of Petal Pink stamped on the inside. I then used the coordinating punch to punch this out and set it aside. The wildflowers and smaller dragonflies were stamped with Versamark on my wood grain In Good Taste DSP and then sprinkled with our white Stampin' Emboss powder to heat emboss. I used our Blending Brushes with a bit of Just Jade on Very Vanilla before heat embossing the sentiment with Stampin' Emboss Gold and die cutting with a stitched circle from our Stitched Shapes Dies. Elegant Faceted Gems are one of my all time favorite embellishments and added a subtle touch with my Linen Thread bow.

I can't wait to see your Spring Has Sprung designs this week! Have an amazing Tuesday

TGIF 302 Wild Roses Color Challenge

Happy Friday! This week has gone by in a blur! I can't believe that Taryn is now officially 11!!! It seems like just a few months ago I was blogging about her 1st day in Kindergarten and getting ready for a Denver Bronco Super Bowl Win... my does time fly when we are having fun! We celebrated with a birthday of her choice, the girl chose Steak, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus and then we had cake for dessert! She got a brand new batch of clothes from Stitch Fix, Bedding, some Lego DOTS and some other girly things. She was so excited!

I am back this week with the TGIF Design Team for this Valentine inspired color challenge and a challenge it was! I wasn't quite sure how to pull off these colors. When I struggle with a color challenge I tend to go for some sort of ink based technique. Today I chose to use the Blending Brushes! They sure are getting a workout in my stamp room, and you shouldn't look them over!

The card today started with a piece of Basic White cardstock. I used my Blending Brushes to ink it up with Real Red and Petal Pink. It created an ombre like effect. Then I stamped it with Versamark using the Wild Rose background stamp so that I could heat emboss it with Cleat Stampin' Emboss powder. I stumbled on a similar layout on Pinterest recently and decided to give a try. The inked up layer is adhered to a Smoky Slate base with Stampin' Dimensionals (I should have used our Foam Adhesive Strips). Once I had things set, I die cut the word LOVE from our Copper Foil using the Playful Alphabet Dies. It sits nicely on a piece of Basic White that is layered over a heart from the Be Mine Stitched Dies that I die cut out of our Velum Cardstock. A few of our Elegant Faceted Dots was the perfect touch for this card that is on a card base of Smoky Slate!

I can't wait to see what you create with this weeks challenge!
Hope you have a fabulous day!

The Spot Color Challenge 112

Happy Tuesday! If you are in the US, I hope you had a relatively normal but enjoyable Holiday weekend! We grilled some asparagus and pork chops for dinner yesterday. Spent some time getting the rest of the garden in over the weekend while Troy and Wesley mowed and wacked the weeds. Pigs are doing good, horses are in pasture and our version of normal seems to be panning out!
This week The Spot Creative Challenge we have a color challenge for you. You don't have use ALL 5 colors, you can pick 3 and roll with that too. I decided to be brave and use all 5. Let me show you what I have created today!

This card was so much fun to make! I used our sponges with all 5 colors on a sheet of Shimmer White Cardstock that I had cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" in this order, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, and Coastal Cabana. After I achieved the look I was going for I cut 1/2" strips and layered them onto a piece of Whisper White card stock that was 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". I adhered each strip in a staggered like pattern of sorts using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Next, I used the Rectangle Stitched Dies. After I had this piece all done, I stamped the large sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflower bundle with Versamark ink and Heat Embossed it with White Stampin' Emboss powder. To add a bit of panache, I heat embossed the same flower on the Basic Black layer. A bit of the dew drop looking gems from the Flowers For Every Season Gems were a subtle touch. To tie this card all together I decided to stamp the sentiment in Coastal Cabana to coordinate with the mat. A Melon Mambo card base was the ONLY choice in my mind and was perfect for this card!

Now it is your turn! Make a card using 3 of the colors... or 5! I can't wait to see what you create! These colors scream summer!! Have a great Tuesday!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Winger Gifts Blog Hop

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving! I am so glad we will be staying home and having friends over as we got quite a bit of snow on Tuesday! So here I sit typing up my blog post before I spend the vast majority of the day in my kitchen making one of my favorite meals to make. We have our friends the Mortenson's coming over with their 3 kids so it will be a smaller crowd that can be a ton of fun!

I am back with the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! I am so excited this month because the amazing Elizabeth Price has joined our team and she is jumping right in with the Wintere Gifts Kit!Plus, We are diehards and didn't want to let you all down! This month Stampin' Up! and Paper Pumpkin did not disappoint!! In fact this may be one of my favorite kits EVER!

I know that many of us are looking for alternative ways to use our kits... This kit was hard to even think about using any other way. After messing around for about an hour on the only day I had to myself in the last two weeks... I came up with the snow themed card I created below. Let me get you the details!

This card started with the my Whisper White layer. I began by sponging the Night of Navy and Pool Party until I got the desired effect. Next I stamped the Let It Snow sentiment sporadically with Versamark Ink so that I could use the Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder. This was accented with the small snowflakes that are also in the kit using Night of Navy ink. I layered the two sizes of snowflakes by adhering them together with Mini Glue Dots and then adhering it to the card front with a Mini Stampin' Dimensional! A nice little sequin in the center of the snowflake and a double silver twine bow was the perfect accent for this amazing alternate that sits on a mat of Pool Party Cardstock with a Night Of Navy base!

I can't wait for you to see all the alternates on todays hop! Maybe you can take a break once the Turkey is in the oven and flip through the list below! Have an amazing day!

TGIF Challenge 226 Modern Heart Splatter

Happy Friday!!! Are you ready for the weekend!? The kids are not back at school until next week! The days are being counted...trust me!!! Wesley has a football scrimmage tomorrow! The kid is pumped for football this year. It kind of took me by surprise. He tends to always take the easy road, so I thought that after playing last year... this year was questionable. I am excited too, I like being the loudest mom there!

The TGIF Challenges has a fun and what can be messy challenge for you this week! The challenge this week is Splatter and we all know I love to splatter!

Confession time, this card has been made for a while now... I actually used it as a swap card when the Annual Catalog went live in June. Let me show you what I have made!

This card started with my Whisper White card front. I have found that using an old Aqua Painter with a mixture of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Water is the best way for me to make my splatters. Once you have splattered this mixture you sprinkle what ever embossing powder you would like! I chose to use the Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. You will want to be sure you use your embossing buddy when doing this that way the powder doesn't stick in places you don't want it to! A nice Gold Foil banner was perfect with this. The heart is also heat embossed in gold over a background of Flirty Flamingo this great stamp is from the Modern Heart stamp set. I chose to use the largest stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut this out. It is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals over the banner and some Whisper White Bakers Twine! The sentiment is stamped in Gray Granite and then also die cut with Stitched Shapes Dies. To give a bit more umph, I have added a few Metallic Pearls for some visual texture.

I can't wait to see the beautiful mess that you make for this challenge! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Creation Station Stampers Gone Wild Blog Hop

Happy Sunday! Hope that you all are having a lovely weekend. The family and I ran out to watch the swine show yesterday at the county fair. It was really neat to watch these kids with their pigs and the judge taking his time to explain some of his reasoning for his placements. We were there for 5 hours!!! It was a long night!

The Creation Station team is back with a "Stampers Gone Wild" blog hop theme. We are creating cards with animals for you. It would have been easy for me to reach for the Let It Ride or Over The Moon stamp sets, but I wanted to challenge myself a bit and decided to be a little less predictable and use the Rustic Retreat stamp set.

This card started several different ways... but lets talk about the way it ended up! I chose to use the Rustic Retreat stamp set. I have taken the tree line stamp in this set with Mossy Meadow ink to create a border. This is a nice piece of Very Vanilla as is the Gold Heat Embossed deer. I added a touch of the pine on the top left with Mossy Meadow as well. The sentiment is stamped using Crumb Cake ink on Sahara Sand, then fussy cut to adhere to the stitched square with the deer. The Sahara Sand Pinewood Planks was great touch to for this masculine themed card!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Next on the hop is Jeanna and I am sure you are going to love what she has created for you! Just click the next button below!

Creation Station Got Your Back Blog Hop

Happy First Sunday of July!! I hope those of you in the United States had a fabulous holiday this week! We were blessed to have Troy's cousin and kids stop in on their way to the Grand Canyon from Iowa! Our kids have such an amazing time with them. I have been a bit on the down low lately, with last weeks grueling schedule and company coming over this week, I had to focus on my domestic duties...

Today I am creating with the Creation Station Design Team. We creating with the "Got Your Back" theme! The idea is to showcase the background stamps in the catalog! I took the opportunity to mix up two for you! Let me show you what I have created!

This card started in a bit of a different way! I had been working on swaps and had some extra layers of Crumb Cake card stock that had been stamped with Soft Suede ink using the Birch back ground stamp! Today I took it a bit further by running it through with my Pinewood Planks embossing folder to add some texture! I also had a piece of Very Vanilla stamped with Soft Suede ink using the All Wired up background stamp. If you have the chicken wire of years ago, don't look at this and say "I already have it..." It is much smaller in scale compared to the old one! So you do NEED it! After adhering this to the wood, I added this to Pear Pizzazz, I had a bugger of time getting it straight, so I rolled with the wonky layer idea! My To A Wild Rose Flower is stamped twice with Petal Pink ink and has a Soft Suede outline. I chose to use Pear Pizzazz for the leaves. A bit of Linen Thread was the only thing suitable for this card. A Stampin' Emboss Copper sentiment and some of the new Designer Elements were just what this card needed to be finished off!

I can't wait for you to see what Elizabeth has made for you today!!! You can get to her by clicking the next link below!

3rd Thursday Getting to Know The NEW Catalog

Have you ever had a week where no matter what you try to do or schedule you just can't keep up?! That would be the theme of this week and probably next week too! I feel like summer break is a gentle juggling act of doing what NEEDS to be done and doing what you want to do! My creative wheels have been a bit stuck lately... I over think my projects some times... well maybe not just my projects. So instead of working on stuff for my catalog launch yesterday afternoon... I took the kids to the pool. See!!! Even adults make bad choices!

Today I am back with the 3rd Thursday Blog Hop team! We are showing off some of the new goodies from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, I am sure at this point you have seen a TON of new goodies... This card kind of came together on accident! Sometimes accidents are happy accidents... Let me show you what I have created.

This card started with my Petal Pink Daisy!! Yes you read that right! My card started with a flower!!!! I used both size daisy stamps in the Daisy Lane stamp set. This set is bundled in the catalog with the Medium Daisy Punch. I have stamped this on Very Vanilla card stock! This coordinates nicely with the wood patterned DSP from the Pressed Petals DSP and the Very Vanilla Stitched Lace layer. I have adhered this to a nice mat of Soft Seafoam cardstock. I added a bit of the Petal Pink ribbon with a touch of Linen Thread. It is all nicely layered onto a Petal Pink card base. A heat embossed sentiment was just the right touch to finish this card off!

I can't for you to see what Kimberley has whipped up for you! You can get to her by clicking the next button below!

Happy Thursday!
