OSAT Boys In The Hood Blog Hop

Good Morning! It has a been awhile! First thing is first... let me explain my absence a bit. On May 16th, after spending the day going to church and doing some barn chores and making a third pen, Troy and I sat down to his phone ringing. His dad had amazing timing, although this time it was his wife and that is never good. Troy's dad had passed away in his wheel chair peacefully in his garage. If you KNOW me, you will know that he has been fighting something for sometime. If it wasn't his heart it was his skin cancer and if it wasn't that, it was his breathing and oxygen levels. My goal over the last few weeks is trying to keep my kids busy and help them through this grieving process. Throw in a few pig shows, a birthday and summer school, that has been my life!  Enough about that!
This month the One Stamp At A Time team is hopping with a masculine theme that we decided to label Boys In The Hood. Sometimes masculine is for boys and not men, which was my goal when Sara Levin and I created this theme! I chose to use the retiring Well Suited DSP and Ride The Range Bundle for todays designs! Let me show you what I have created!

Now, I wish I could take all the credit for this amazing fold but I can't! I stumbled on this great tutorial from fellow demonstrator Lyssa Zwolanek. It was great way for me to use up some retiring DSP! You can find the the dimensions for the card base here. You will need some 12 x 12 card stock. I chose to use Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. The belly band is Smoky Slate. I carefully chose each pattern so that it didn't clash or look to busy. On the Basic White Panel I stamped the barbwire from the Ride The Range bundle with Basic Gray ink and added a bit of the Well Suited and Essential Bakers Twine in a knot. The sentiments are stamped in Night of Navy. The horse shoes that accent the front are heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder on a Smoky Slate card stock, I added a bit of Basic Gray ink before die cutting them with the coordinating die. I just love the Tailor Made Tags dies and it was perfect for the birthday sentiment on the front! A quick tag was the perfect complimentary item for this fancy fold!

I can't wait for you to see what all of my friends have made! You can click along the link list below for some more masculine inspiration!

Creation Station Man After My Heart Hop

Happy Sunday! We decided to not go to the pig show today... a bit bummed but, the wind is down right crazy and there is nothing worse than feeling like you have 80 grit in your eyes! Mother Nature tried to provide some moisture but it just was not enough. Today our church has its first in person service since the pandemic started. To say that I am happy is understatement.

Today, I am creating and hopping with the Creation Station Design Team. We are creating masculine cards with the theme "A Man After My Own Heart". I was lucky because when our annual catalog went live on Wednesday, I was able to expedite things... So todays creation is made with goodies from the new catalog. When you look at today's card there is a chance you may not get it... But if you know me and know that I love a good play on words or country music, You will get it! rLet's take a look!

I can't tell you how many ways I envisioned making this card. If you haven't heard the song "Sunshine & Whiskey" you may not understand this card right away and that is okay! That was my inspiration for this fun card that started with the two whiskey bottles from the new stamp set Whiskey Business. They are colored with Cinnamon Cider and Pool Party Stampin' Blends and then fussy cut with my Paper Snips. The heat embossed gold sentiment is from Ronda Wade's Million Dollar Achiever set called Ridiculously Awesome. It was stamped on Whisper White and also fussy cut so that I could layer it over my whiskey bottles. My layer of Whisper White was stamped with Pool Party ink using another new set called Textured Essentials, this set is sure to please and his kind of hidden in the catalog! After I had that finished I layered a strip of wood designer series paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. The Bottles are adhered over this with our new Stampin' Seal (WHICH I LOVE). I used the Foam Adhesive Strips to adhere my sentiment and a few Gilded Gems to finish this off!

I hope you enjoyed my fun and masculine card! If you haven't heard the song go find it! Next on the hop today is Kerstin, you can get to her by clicking the next button below. Need a list of the products I used, that is below the next button as well! Have a great Sunday!

The Spot Masculine Challenge

Happy Tuesday! Did you all have an amazing weekend? I know that we did! We spent the weekend an hour south in a town called Burlington. Taryn had her first pig show and it was such an amazing experience. I learned a lot about showing pigs and I know that Taryn did too. It was super hot today and not suppose to be much different through out the week. Thank goodness our 32 Foot Slip and Slide is suppose to be here this week!

Today I am creating with The Spot Design Team and we are creating with a Masculine theme. We all know that this theme for WHATEVER reason is particularly hard for me when it comes to creating. I also saw this as an opportunity to do one last post with stuff from our Mini Catalog. I am not sure why it took me so long to ink up the Timeless Tropical Bundle. Now this amazing bundle carries over but the amazing Memories and More Card Pack and Designer Series Paper DOES NOT! So you will want to snatch that up today, before it is gone for good. Lets take a look at my design for this challenge.

I started my card by searching through the Memories and More card pack. Once I found one that I thought would work I set it aside. I have fussy cut the car from another Memories and More Card. I have used my Soft Suede and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers to create my palm trees from the Timeless Tropical Bundle. I die cut them using the coordinating die. This is adhered to the Memories and More card towards the right. Then I added my sentiment in Pretty Peacock towards the top on the left before adding my fussy cut car with Stampin' Dimensionals. This is nicely layered onto a piece of the Designer Series Paper. With my mat, I decided to create my own Designer Series Paper by using Sahara Sand ink on Sahara Sand card stock. I roughed my edges up a bit and I was done!

I am so glad that you stopped by today! I can't wait to see you play along with our masculine challenge! The link is above so you will not want to miss out!

Creation Station Stampers Gone Wild Blog Hop

Happy Sunday! Hope that you all are having a lovely weekend. The family and I ran out to watch the swine show yesterday at the county fair. It was really neat to watch these kids with their pigs and the judge taking his time to explain some of his reasoning for his placements. We were there for 5 hours!!! It was a long night!

The Creation Station team is back with a "Stampers Gone Wild" blog hop theme. We are creating cards with animals for you. It would have been easy for me to reach for the Let It Ride or Over The Moon stamp sets, but I wanted to challenge myself a bit and decided to be a little less predictable and use the Rustic Retreat stamp set.

This card started several different ways... but lets talk about the way it ended up! I chose to use the Rustic Retreat stamp set. I have taken the tree line stamp in this set with Mossy Meadow ink to create a border. This is a nice piece of Very Vanilla as is the Gold Heat Embossed deer. I added a touch of the pine on the top left with Mossy Meadow as well. The sentiment is stamped using Crumb Cake ink on Sahara Sand, then fussy cut to adhere to the stitched square with the deer. The Sahara Sand Pinewood Planks was great touch to for this masculine themed card!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Next on the hop is Jeanna and I am sure you are going to love what she has created for you! Just click the next button below!

Creation Station monuMENtal Blog Hop

Happy Sunday! I hope you all have had an amazing weekend! Saturday here was packed full! Wesley had a band performance in the morning, I did prom makeup at lunchtime and Taryn had her dance recital in the afternoon. It was truly one of those never a dull moments kind of day!
The Creation Station Design Team is hopping with a masculine theme that we are calling MonuMENtal!! If you have followed me this week I have been using up the retiring Wood Textures DSP and this card is sure to not disappoint! Lets take a look!

This card has a warm base of Crumb Cake Card stock with a mat of Mossy Meadow. The Wood Textures DSP is stamped using the Crackle Paint Background stamp. The Copper Foil is embossed with the Pinewood Planks. I have colored the horse using my Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Combo pack and then stamped the tall grass like stamp from Country Road in Mossy Meadow. A nice Copper Heat embossed sentiment was just the right touch on this Thick Whisper White piece. I then die cut  this with the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies that will be available 6/4! An accent of a Tin Tile embossed banner that has been shimmer painted with the Champagne Shimmer Paint, a Crumb Cake  banner and Linen Thread with bow and this card was done!

Thank You so much for stopping by today! I can't wait for you to see what Julie has in store! You can get to her by clicking the next button below!
