Stamp Ink Paper 143 Basket of Flowers Challenge

Tuesday, Oh Tuesday which means it is a BRAND NEW Challenge for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge!

Before we get to that, am I the only parent who absolutely loathes Parent Teacher Conferences?? It really has nothing to do with whether they are doing well or not. I strive to keep a very open line of communication amongst teachers and myself. My two kids in elementary are doing amazing, but that is because they have amazing teachers. This is Joshua's last quarter of elementary school, I worry about him going to middle school next year. It is a much different environment, the teachers are not nurturing and even border on being just down right rude and mean. I know this because Wesley has struggled ALL year. If you are a parent reading this, make no mistakes, you are your children's ONLY advocate.

So this weeks challenge is "A Basket of Flowers", many of our team did just that! I of course went a bit rouge!

Well, I know it isn't a card, but this cute little note pad jumped out at me when I was at the local business supply store. I knew exactly what DSP and everything I wanted to use on it... When brainstorming yesterday for the challenge, I didn't want to do what everyone else was using. I took a nice 2.25" x 12" strip of Night of Navy card stock to coordinate with the Delightful Daisy DSP strip that I cut 2" x 12". There was about a 1" gap when I created this, so I used the Layering Circles and Stitched Shapes Framelits to complete my belly band. My So Saffron that was embossed using the Basket Weave embossing folder. I tied a nice Night of Navy Gingham ribbon bow to hold the Thank You sentiment that is stamped with Night of Navy ink. My nice daisy was stamped in Daffodil Delight, I then used my Aqua Painter to fill in the petals for a some what no line watercoloring appearance. My nice spring like leaves are from the Painted Harvest Bundle. I stamped the leaves on Lemon Lime Twist with Pear Pizzazz ink. It was the perfect contrast!!!! A nice Clear Faceted Gem was perfect for the center of the daisy!

I can't wait to see what you are going to make with this weeks theme!!
Have a great Tuesday!

OSAT Kids Only Blog Hop

Good Morning!!! It is One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop time and we are hopping with a Kids Only theme. Of course this could also mean Back To School, so I am sure you will see some wonderful creations geared towards this time of year! Are you ready for school to start?? I sure am!

Did you get to me by way of the amazing Dena Rekow? Her creativity does not ever disappoint me! I can't wait to show you what I have made for you this month.

I honestly wasn't sure what DSP or what card I wanted to make, but I knew that I wanted to make a "Back Pack" as my 3D item. Taryn (my youngest daughter) has a dress that would coordinate with this whole ensemble, so I began creating with her in mind.

My Night of Navy based card with Daffodil Delight matte was perfect for simple yet delicate card. What better than a sentiment from Watercolor Words telling my kid that "You're The Best". I think they all need to hear it. I heat embossed this with the Stampin' Emboss White Powder and did a lovely Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon. I layered three water colored daisies from the Daisy Delight Bundle and gave it a nice little Metal Rimmed Pearl as a center. I adhere this with a couple little banners of the ribbon with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Adorable right? I made this cute little back with Night of Navy Card Stock but you will also notice I stamped it using Night of Navy ink with the Burlap Background Stamp to add some texture. This also has the Delightful Daisy DSP and Metal Rimmed Pearls. The great thing about this Back Pack is that it opens up to a fun little mini album. I didn't quite have time to adorn and embellish the pages yet but added some DSP so you get the idea. To fasten it shut I used some Velcro. The front small pocket is functional as well.

I am so glad you came by today! I will be posting the instructions on the backpack shortly so stay tuned!

Next on this hop is the amazing Kelly Acheson! You can get to her by clicking the next button below!

Stamp Ink Paper 99 Packaging Challenge

Happy Tuesday! The weather here has been so crazy with really gusty winds over night. It really rattles my nerves. Although I like getting great weather and cloud pictures, I would prefer the wind not shake my house and flip stuff over!

This week the design team for Stamp Ink Paper is challenging you do some Packaging! There are so may dies and ready to decorate packaging products out there for us to play with. I honestly started to do something entirely different but then I remembered that I had this super cute acetate boxes. Let me show you what I have done...

This fun little acetate box is the Clear Tiny Treat Box. I decided to spruce this little cutie up using the Delightful Daisy DSP with the Daisy Delight Bundle! I used fringe scissors to create the "packing" inside of the box. I took 1.5" strip of the Delightful Daisy DSP and wrapped it around the box  so that it overlapped and adhered it with Tear N Tape so that it could easily slide off the box. I tied a doubled strand of Linen Thread in a lovely bow to make my cute little loops with my 5/8 Burlap Ribbon. I just can't get enough of this Daisy Delight Bundle. I stamped three onto the Watercolor Paper in Daffodil Delight and then used our Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Pencils to color in the Daisy. After I adhered the three together with Glue Dots, I added a Gold Faceted gem and a Stampin' Dimensional and popped it onto the top! Adorable right?

I can't wait to see what you make with this fun challenge that will really get you thinking outside the box!
