TGIF Challenges ! An Elfie Sketch

TGIF!!! I can't believe it is already Friday! Holiday festivities are in full swing and it seems as though we have something every weekend leading into Christmas. Tomorrow I have a fun Christmas Card class at Lala's Bakery and Espresso Bar and then we are off to build gingerbread houses at our friends in our Christmas Pajamas!

TGIF Challenges has fun sketch for you to play along with this week, Although the sketch itself is a square card, some of us went a little rogue!

I just can't get enough of this Elfie! Sadly the Festive Phrases stamp set will retire at the end of the month! I colored up this cutie again with the Stampin' Blends markers. The largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits was perfectly layered onto a Red Glimmer Paper Scalloped Oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits. The Cherry Cobbler and White stripe from the Christmas Around the World DSP was a simple way to interpret the stripes of the sketch! I tied a nice little bow with the ribbon and accented with some Glitter Enamel dots. My Pool Party matter onto my Old Olive card base was just the right touch! 

Paper Craft Crew 271 Sketch Challenge

It is Wednesday and I am back in full swing with the Paper Craft Crew! I have been kind of MIA lately with woes of life, sick kiddo's and of course OnStage but I am back. 

Have you gotten your Christmas shopping done yet?? Mine is nearly done!! I am not bragging but I am pretty excited for myself and my wallet!! I can't wait to see the looks on my kids faces!!!

Paper Craft Crew has fun sketch for you this week and I of course didn't quite do it like the sketch...

So my unconventional Christmas card started with the Shimmer White card stock embossed using the Softly Falling embossing folder. I adhered a nice Copper Foil snowflake from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to the top left. I wasn't quite sure what or where I would put the sentiment. So I heat embossed the sentiment from Hearts Come Home using the Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder onto a small piece of the Christmas Around the World DSP and turned it into a little banner. I used some Linen Thread to tie the elegant banner onto the card. Once this was done I used the Foil Snowflakes in silver and adhered it between the layers. My Year of Cheer DSP is paired up with Smoky Slate for my nice matte onto a Pool Party Card Base!

Stampin Friends Happy Holidays Blog Hop

Hey there!! I am back with the Stampin Friends this month hopping with the "Happy Holidays" blog hop! I am sooooo excited to be busting out the Christmas goodies! It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only a week away. I guess I didn't realize it after all the fun I had at Stampin' Up! OnStage in Salt Lake City!! Truly the best 4 days of my life.

With this months project I was inspired by a room mate gift I received from one of my fellow demonstrator friends! She made these cute little ornaments with a little bit of Burlap Ribbon, Gingham Ribbon and embellished the inside with a heat embossed sentiment with a lovely snowflake. It just so happened that I had these cute little clear plastic ornaments that I scored on clearance from Walmart last Christmas!!! Let me get you the details...

My card is a rich base of Old Olive card stock to coordinate with the Christmas Around the World DSP. It is nicely matted with Cherry Cobbler card stock. A nice layer of DSP was a festive touch. When making this card I used the Stitched Shapes to cut the DSP that Santa is propped on. It is adhered to a Layered Circle of Red Glimmer Paper. Now for my Santa... Yes he came from the Cookie Cutter Christmas bundle, I felt a bit like Jeffrey Dahmer when making him. Once he was colored with the Stampin' Blends markers I started piecing him around the sentiment that I also fussy cut from the same DSP pack. It really turned out cute!! I added some fun silver thread for a little bit of sparkle.

My fun 3D started by cutting a full sheet of 12 x 12 DSP from the Christmas Around the World pack into 1/2" strips and curling them. I stuffed them into the ornament using a pencil. I then wrapped a piece of the Burlap ribbon with the Cross Stitch Ribbon to make the lovely little bow. This bow is holding the cute little tag made using the Everyday Label Punch with the Cookie Cutter Bundle! The added sparkle from the Gold Mini Sequin Trim and the Faceted Gems were just the right touch!

TGIF 129 Sketch Challenge Feeling Elf like

TGIF!!! I know that we are all glad that it is Friday. TGIF Challenges is back this week with a fun sketch! Can you tell I am addicted to the markers yet? Stampin' Blends... AMAZING!

We all know that a sketch is totally up to how you visualize it... I knew exactly what was going to happen as soon as I messed with this cute little elf guy from the Festive Phrases stamp set in the Holiday Catalog with my Stampin' Blends markers and who doesn't like an elf!?

I did a nice layout of the Christmas Around The Worlds DSP, this is part of the Buy 3 get 1 free DSP sale. A nice border of Wood Textures DSP seemed to be the perfect contrast for this card. This was matted onto Smoky Slate with a nice Pool Party base. I die cut my colored image with a Stitched Oval and layered it onto a nice Gold Foil scalloped oval from the Layering Oval Framelits. Before adhering this I added a nice doubled linen thread bow and some wrinkled up Smoky Slate Gingham Ribbon to coordinate with the sketch. A few... well, okay 5 Glitter Enamel dots and this cutie patootie was done!
