A Paper Pumpkin Thing Winter Woods Kit

Whew!!! Its the last Thursday of the month and we ALL know what that means right? It is Halloween! Well not only isn't Halloween, it is time for the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! We are hopping with the October Kit, Winter Woods.

It has been a really cold few days here in on the Easter Plains. The kids had a snow day yesterday after we got about 6-8 inches overnight Tuesday-Wednesday. This morning we woke up to single digit temps and negative wind chills. Life has been a bit crazy and the next two weeks will be spent getting things ready for OnStage in Vegas and a craft fair the weekend.
When I opened this months kit, it was NOT my favorite. While I know there is market out there for cards like this kit, it just didn't say "I know what I am going to make!!" . Which is crazy, because if you saw the live on the Facebook Paper Pumpkin page, I made those two cards in less than 2 hours! I always work better under pressure... Let me show you the two alternatives for today!

This card started with a sponged background of Night of Navy and Pool Party ink. I heat embossed the large snowflakes from the kit with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. A nice strip of the Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper was a great accent for this winter holiday card. The In The Woods Dies are great to coordinate with this kit. I chose to die cut a Shaded Spruce cardstock tree and heat emboss the falling snow. This layered onto a wood Stitched Nested Label from the Coming to Gather DSP and accented with Gold Metallic Pearls. This card has a rich mat of Shaded Spruce and a card base of Pool Party.

This card features something from the Paper Pumpkin live event. I decided that with this card that I wanted to show the Birch Background stamped trees on the Shimmer White die cuts. They are stamped with Early Espresso ink and then I used the Aqua Painter to move the ink around so it looked like real wood. I chose to fussy cut one set of tree trunks off.  I stamped the pine tree from the Winter Woods stamp set with Shaded Spruce ink and distressed the edges a bit with Early Espresso. This card also features a sponged background with Night of Navy and Pool Party inks and a heat embossed snow element at the top. A quick rectangle sentiment with a few loops of thread and this card was done!

Thank you so much for stopping in today! I can't wait for you to see what everyone else is making today! Make sure you click through the list below to tour the whole hop!

Stamp Ink Paper 147 Color It Challenge

TUESDAY!!!! Yes, I had to shout it because I am so glad that Monday is past us! I spent an hour last night chasing FFA Pigs back into the pen that they had escaped from. No, they do not belong to me but the property we live on is owned by Troy's employer and the owners sons kids, have all of their 4H/FFA animals here. So... While it was not my circus or my pigs, we helped their 17 year old daughter get them all back to their pen!

This week with Stamp Ink Paper we have fun and creative challenge for you. We want you to Color It! We want to see creations made with coloring techniques. I definitely stepped out side of my comfort zone today with Watercoloring! Lets take a look!

This card really came out better than planned. I simply used the laser cut piece from the Soft Sayings Card Kit. I used some washi to tape it down to my Water Color Paper. Once I had this all set up I began using my Aqua Painter to color in the leaves Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Pool Party and Crushed Curry inks. This card came out exactly how I wanted. I matted this on to a layer of Gold Foil Paper and Berry Burst before adhering this onto its Pool Party Card Base. A few of the White Perfect Accents were colored using the Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blend. A nice simple "Amazing" sentiment from the Celebrate You thinlits and a Gold Glitter leaf was the perfect touch to finish this off!!

Thank you so much for stopping in today! I can't wait to see what you do to Color It for this challenge!
If you like what you see I have provided links to the product for you to order!

Paper Craft Crew 283 Happy Birthday Friend Sketch

It is Paper Craft Crew Wednesday! We are happily half through the week! It is Hump Day which means that the Paper Craft Crew is back with a brand new challenge! Luckily, I didn't blow away yesterday! Although, I think I am going to have to go rescue a few horse blankets.

I am designing today with the Paper Craft Crew design team! Pam has whipped up a versatile sketch for all of us to play along with... Come take a look.

This card started with a layer of Thick Whisper White card stock. I used my Large Aqua Painter to create the water colored Berry Burst splatters. A nice strip of Picture Perfect Party DSP to coordinate with the color of the splatters seemed to be the right direction. Once I had these core pieces of my project started I used the dies from the Lovely Friends Bundle to create a Gold Glimmer "Friend" oval. The back drop for this is a Layering Oval cut from one of the Soft Sayings card bases. I fussy cut the bows from the Picture Perfect Party DSP and layered them behind my oval. The Basic Black Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Eclectic Expressions Sale A Bration set. A little Lemon Lime Twist Washi and a strip of the Bermuda Bay mini chevron was just right. This was nicely layered onto a Lemon Lime Twist matte and a Basic Black card base!

Thank You so much for stopping by today! I can't wait to see what to see what you come up with!
