Creation Station Layers of Leaves Blog Hop

Happy Creation Station Sunday to you all! It seems as though Fall has fallen on the Eastern Plains of Colorado. It was a brisk yesterday watching Wesley and his team finish their football season. When we got home, we all went about our day. I went to the craft room to work on my stuff and the kids proceeded in bursting in anytime I had a crafty friend on the phone...

This month the Creation Station team has many beautiful creations with the theme "Layers of Leaves". In fact, you are probably going to see a lot of fall themes from me this week... I decided to break out a very versatile set from the annual catalog to showcase this theme. Enough talking (or typing for that matter), let me show you what I have whipped up!

I am going to be honest, the Tree Rings background stamp is something that I had to have when the Annual Catalog came out LAST year! I just haven't used it enough... The same could be said for the Colorful Seasons stamp set as well as the coordinating Seasonal Layers dies. I decided to make some watercolor wash leaves using my Aqua Painters, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze ink pads and Watercolor Paper. I die cut the washed leaves with the coordinating die in the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I also cut the copper glimmer paper from the Joyous Noel pack to adhere to them. They really turned out elegant don't you think? The Tree Rings background stamp was inked up with Crumb Cake and also stamped onto Crumb Cake for a nice lodge like feel.  The larger stitched oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits layers nicely over the leaves and Wood Texture DSP. An added touch with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and a nice bow made of the Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Ribbon and this card was done.

These cute little note cards were made to coordinate with my card! They fit so nicely in the little Wood Crate! I even stamped the envelopes!

Creation Station Trees and Textures Blog Hop

It is Creation Station Sunday! We are having a beautiful weekend with AMAZING weather! Spent some time with the horses. The kids played a great game of hide and go seek as well as some fun jumping from hay bail to hay bail. We have big plans this evening and I have plenty of prep work to get done for a big surprise!

Today with I am the Creation Station Design Team and we are hopping with the theme "Trees and Textures", while you may not see Trees on my card, you will see Tree Rings and Wood. Showing you that you can make a card with layers and have visual texture, Let me show you what I have created!

My card design started with a nice background of Crumb Cake card stock. I gently stamped the Tree Rings background stamp with Crumb Cake ink so that the background was perfectly imperfect. Using the Share What You Love DSP, a large stitched oval from the Stitched Shaped Framelits from the wildflower pattern in this pack was perfect. The banners on the left were actually scraps I had and punched with the Banner Triple Punch and then layered underneath the oval. In my opinion a card ALWAYS needs a sentiment. The Share What You Love embellishment kit is absolutely delightful and had the amazing die cut label. Blackberry Bliss seemed perfect for the Thank You sentiment from the Love What You do stamp set. The Shimmery Pear Pizzazz ribbon was just the right touch with the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls. This was all layered onto a rich matte of Blackberry Bliss card stock and then added to a fresh card base of Pear Pizzazz!

Thank You so much for stopping by today! I hope that you too are having an amazing weekend! Next on the hop is the oh so fabulous, lucky to call her my friend, Dena Rekow! You can get to her by clicking the next button below!

Creation Station Bird Is The Word Blog Hop

Happy Sunday! The Creation Station Team is back with a fun Bird Is the Word theme! The feathers will be flying this hop with all the amazing creations!

I had several ideas in my head when I looked at our theme. After a rough past week, all of those ideas went out the window. I even packed what I would to make something in this theme at my up-lines class!! I still didn't have anything whipped up and realized I hadn't blogged this...

I added the Bird from the Petal Palette Bundle last night when I was in a panic about not having anything ready. I actually stamped it using Early Espresso ink and used my Blender Pens with the Calypso Coral Watercolor Pencil. The base of this Pop Up tag card is Crumb Cake Card stock and was stamped using Soft Suede ink with the Tree Rings Background Stamp. I added a nice strip of the Wood Textures DSP to keep with a woodsy feel. I finally have Sheltering Tree...on my Very Vanilla I used Wild Wasabi ink for the green leaves and Soft Suede ink again for the trunk and sentiment. The tab at the top was made using the 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle punches. I used the lace trim and Linen Thread.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I will be posting a tutorial at some point today with how to make this pop tag card! Now onto Kathy! I can't wait for you to see what she has made... You can get to her by clicking the next button below!
