TGIF Challenge 232 Painted Harvest

Friday! Friday! I know that most of us can't wait until Friday, although it seems like lately my work whatever it may be is NEVER done! Wesley has his last football game of the season tomorrow and starts up basketball next week. I was silly to think that I would have a lull! 

Today I am participating with the TGIF Design Team and this amazing color challenge that will definitely get you creating for fall! I inked up an old favorite Painted Harvest to play along with!

Somehow when I think of fall, I think of pumpkins and earthy toned flower arrangements that feature sunflowers and eucalyptus. Which is kind of the direction I was going when I created the card for today! My wood frame is created with Crumb Cake card stock and stamped with Early Espresso using the Birch background stamp. I made the frame with the Rectangle Stitched Dies. I stamped a bit of a background using the fern like stamps from Painted Harvest with Pretty Peacock and Crumb Cake inks. My Grapefruit Grove stamped sunflower is fussy cut and layered a few Linen Thread loops. I stamped the leaves in Pretty Peacock as well and distressed them a bit with Crumb Cake ink. This is nicely matted onto a layer of Pretty Peacock and is on a base of Crumb Cake!

Home Decor SU Style Love Blog Hop

Happy Tuesday afternoon!! Hope you all are nice and warm in your house today, I know some parts of the US are under Elsa's horrible spell! We are on the southwest side of all of it so it is a bit chilly but not nearly as those of you near the Great Lakes!

I am hopping along today with the Home Décor SU Style Blog Hop. We are hopping along with the Love or Valentine theme! I stumbled upon this cute little or maybe not so little wood heart at Dollar General!! Sometimes you have you take a few minutes to look and think outside the box to find things there.. This lovely little piece can stay up all year long!

So I started by painting my heart with white craft paint! The lovely daisies are stamped using Lovely Lipstick ink with Pineapple Punch centers. Each Daisy is actually two. I have accented the centers with the round enamel Pineapple Punch dots in the Best Route Enamel Shapes. I have accented the flowers with Pear Pizzazz leaves using the Leaf Punch. I have stamped the Statement of the Heart sentiment with Pear pizzazz ink and die cut it with a stitched oval from the Stitched Shapes framelits! It is nicely layered onto a scallop oval from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock! A nice Lovely Lipstick loop of ribbon!

One Stamp At A Time End of Summer Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! It is time for another One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop! We are back this month with a fun End Of Summer Tic Tac Toe. I can't wait to show you guys what we have all come up with!

It has been a busy couple weeks and I am starting to feel like I see light at the end of the tunnel. Yesterday was the last day of the county fair. We had a small car wash to help with the up coming dance season expenses. Taryn will have her dance assessments for this years dance season tomorrow, which means that the school year is right around the corner...sad but true!

Here in Colorado, this is the time of year that you can drive around here in on the Eastern Plains and see pastures full of Sunflowers in bloom. A lot of the farmers around here have been hit with some crop damaging hail. In fact I know one farmer who lost his whole wheat crop due to hail and in an effort to try to recover from his loss he planted Sunflowers.

We cooked up this amazing end of summer Tic Tac Toe for some amazing ideas. I honestly have made 4 Three in a Rows... but I am not bragging! Let me show you what I have whipped up for you today!

This amazing card started with Festive Farmhouse DSP. This will be available September! I couldn't wait to pull out this wood grain piece for today's card. I have stamped the fern like stamp from Painted Harvest with Mossy meadow ink. Keeping with the Granite Gray tone, I cut a smallish square stamped with the Burlap Background Stamp. Before layering that under my Sunflower, I used a fun new embossing folder. It is a Corrugated Embossing Folder that comes out at the same time as the DSP! Once this was all complete I stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow and used the Leaf Punch. My sunflower was created by using So Saffron then Crushed Curry. It has a nice rich center of Soft Suede and was die cut using the 2nd to the largest Stitched Circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I have Used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the wood embellishments to the back before attaching it with Stampin' Dimensionals to the corrugated layer. A Nice knot with the braided Linen thread and a nice Copper Heat Embossed sentiment and this card was DONE!

I knew for my project that I needed to keep it easy! Dani Dziama came to my rescue with this cute little box! It only holds one Rollo... But it was oh so cute! I have provided another view of my card below.

Paper Craft Crew 277 Sketch Challenge

I am back on the Paper Craft Crew today! I have a houseful of sickies! Influenza has hit our house! Cross our fingers that no one else gets it!

I am designing today with the Paper Craft Crew and we have a fun sketch for you all to play along with! 

I am going to keep this post short and sweet as I am playing nurse today! This fun and fabulous card started with a base of Daffodil Delight and was matted with Basic Black. The stripe is from the Tutti Frutti DSP. my black and white piece is from the Pick A Pattern DSP and I used my Envelope Punch Board to round the corners. I wanted to added some texture to the card so I instantly grabbed the Wood Textures DSP! I then stamped the flowers from the Amazing You Stamp set with Memento Ink and then used the Stampin' Blends to color them in! My Paper Snips got a workout coloring these out. I used some Gold Glimmer Paper with the Leaf Punch to add some sparkle. The Celebrate You Thinlits were perfect for this card... I like to cut multiples and adhere them together to give it some thickness! A few Glitter Clear Dots and I was done!!!

Creation Station The ABC of Stampin Blog Hop

Welcome to September!! I can't wait for sweater weather which I am sure is just around the corner.

This month the Creation Station Team is hopping with the "ABC's of Stamping". When I hear ABC I immediately thought about back to school!

Every teacher loves an apple and I wasn't quite sure what to come up with for this theme hop. When I sat down and started brain storming it all came together really fast. I will get you the details below!

So the card was really pretty easy once I had the 3D Apple idea. I took 8 of the 2 1/4" Circles punched out of Real Red card stock and adhered them using Liquid Multipurpose until my Apple became whole. The Leaf Punch with Garden Green was the perfect touch with the Jute Cord Core. I hot glued this onto a Close pin with a strip of DSP from the Quilted Christmas pack.

The apple on the card only used 4 of the circles! I adhered it onto the card using Tear & Tape and added a cute little Jute Cord bow and a strip of the Burlap Ribbon. The DSP on the corner is from the Quilted Christmas pack and gave me that perfect back to school look on top of my Basic Black card stock. I chose Watercolor Words because it looked most like handwriting on the chalk board to me. It is heat embossed in Stampin' Emboss White and then matted this onto a layer of Real Red to go onto a Garden Green card Base.
