3RD Thursday Sweet Treats Blog Hop

Happy Thursday afternoon, I hope you are all staying warm today. It is a bit of a blustery day here with no snow in site on the forecast. I need SNOW... I know I shouldn't say that out loud on the interweb and I am probably jinxing myself... but I NEED it!
I am back in full swing with the 3RD Thursday Blog Hop team. We decided to hop with the theme "Sweet Treats". I am so excited about this hop because I have created a fun little treat holder that holds some amazing chocolates! Let me show you what I have created with the Heartfelt Bundle and the Tags Tags Tags that carried over from our Holiday catalog.

These great projects are created with the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. These are perfect for any Valentine in your life and I can't wait to share them this weekend with customers at class. I wanted to show you how well that the Tags Tags Tags set worked with this amazing suite! Every time a new catalog comes out I feel this panic of having to have it ALL. You do not have to HAVE IT ALL. Okay, so I also used the Heartfelt Bundle... because I could.

My card has a base of Flirty Flamingo with a mat of Real Red. I adhered a strip of the striped DSP 1" x 5" towards the bottom of a Whisper White layer. Then, I stamped the ends of the arrow in Flirty Flamingo and Real Red ink towards the top right. When I was creating the projects for today I stamped the tags in Flirty Flamingo. This stamp is so cool because it stamps all three tags at once and the dies cut them all at the same time too! I accented the tag with a Real Red heart die cut that is also in the Trio of Tags dies. Some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle with Bakers Twine Bow and a rhinestone from the From My Heart Faceted Gems was the perfect touch. This is nicely layered over a Real Red stamped scallop heart from the Heartfelt Bundle and accented with a couple more From My Heart Faceted Gems.

Okay, now the treat holder... I actually made this before making the card. Kind of backwards in my creative process, but it all comes out in the wash, Right?! We are going to call this the Matchbook Treat Holder, So here is how this cutie is made...
  1. Cut Real Red Cardstock 3" x 7" and score on long side at 1/2", 3 1/2", 4"
  2.  Make sure you run your bone folder over those score lines real good
  3. Using Tear & Tape, Add a strip on the 1/2" flap and the opposite side. This would hold your cute little chocolates or treats in place.
  4. Use your Bone Folder again to make sure your treats are nice and secured.
  5.  Cut 2 DSP Pieces at 2 3/4" x 2 3/4", these will be on the outside.
  6.  Cut 3/8" x 2 3/4" strip to go on the flap holding the treats.
  7.  Cut 1 1/4" x 7" strip (this will be your belly band closure for the treat holder)  score on long side at 1/2", 3 1/2", 4"
  8. Adhere 3/4" x 7" coordinating DSP.
  9.  Wrap around and adhere with Tear & Tape.
Great little treat holder right? I have provided a photo of the inside below. I have accented this with a DSP punched heart and another Flirty Flamingo stamped tag from the Tags Tags Tags. A little bit of Polka Dot Tulle and this cutie was DONE!

I am so excited about this treat holder! I hope you enjoy it too! I can't wait for you to see what the rest of the gang has come up with.
