Paper Craft Crew 335 Sketch Challenge

Happy Wednesday!!! Are we all happy that we are over the hump???? If we are friends on Facebook you will know that in my house we are at that time of year where the kids no longer want to wake up to get ready for school and while I think we all are impatiently waiting for summer break, I am not sure that I am ready for the bickering... 9, 11 and 13 year old's are not for the faint of heart!

I am working on getting back into my regular groove again! Today I am back at it with the Paper Craft Crew Design Team! We have a fabulous sketch that you will see below that of course is left to interpretation!

The launch of the new Annual Catalog is right around the corner and I feel like sometimes we can't always purge EVERYTHING that is going away. For example the Wood Textures DSP will be saying a fond farewell, but on today's card I am going to show you how you can use some of that Wood Textures DSP with the upcoming Magnolia Lane DSP!

The Magnolia Lane suite will be one of the hottest new items in the upcoming catalog! The DSP is amazing with fabulous florals as well as stripes and small prints! Today's card started with a rich base of Early Espresso Card Stock. The mat of Petal Pink is distressed on the edges using an older pair of snips. I have used one of the stripe patterns in the Magnolia Lane DSP to layer onto the Petal Pink. I am so sad that the Wood Textures DSP will not be returning in the upcoming catalog. It makes an excellent partner with the Magnolia Lane DSP.  A nice strip of the White Flax ribbon was perfect for this earthy card. Let's get to the star of the show, the magnolia. I have stamped this image with Early Espresso ink on Thick Whisper White. The image was then colored with Stampin' Blends. First the leaves were colored with the Old Olive Combo. I usually start with the dark then blend with the light. The flower itself will probably surprise you! Once the center of the flower was colored with the Soft Suede Combo, I started shading with the Ivory Stampin' Blend first... It gave me just enough of a shadow when I started to blend with the Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blend. After I was all done coloring, I used a the Stampin' Blend Lifter on some of the petals. A nice Early Espresso sentiment on the Classic Label punch, a few Gold Foil Leaves and some Epoxy Droplets and this puppy was done!

I am so glad you came by today! I can't wait to see what you create for this sketch!
