Creation Station Mad As A Hatter Mash Up

Good Sunday to you all! I am enjoying a cup of coffee while typing my post this morning listening to the Robin's outside. We got a good rain last night and everything is still wet. It was great timing as Troy and I did our part with our stimulus money and bought our own riding lawn mower. So when he got home with it yesterday, he got most of the mowing done out front. I spent yesterday trying to be motivated. We checked pigs, did a couple loads of laundry, dishes and I kept trying to get my card done for today... The card took all day!!!

This month on the Creation Station Design Team, we are hopping with the Mad As A Hatter Mash Up. Its about using things maybe in an unintended way or crazy color schemes... So, in order to pull a rabbit out of my hat to whip something up for this hop, I chose to use the retiring Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper to make a cowboy like card with the also retiring Let It Ride (Insert dramatic sobbing here).

My card started with rope pattern and stripe from the Come Sail Away DSP. I knew I could pull a western like feel with the rope pattern and who doesn't love a good stripe!? It was a no brainer to mix the Denim Ribbon with a bit of Linen Thread. This card is accented with Night of Navy card stock and enamel dots from the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots. I have used our amazing Watercolor Pencils to color the horse from the Let It Ride stamp set. I chose to use the Early Espresso pencil because I have tried so many times to make a Bay horse with Blends to no avail! The Crumb Cake stamped sentiment is die cut with our Rectangle Stitched Dies. I tied it all together with a Crumb Cake mat on a Balmy Blue card base!

Thank You so much for stopping by today! I can't wait for you to see what my BEST friend Jeanna has whipped up for you, you can get to her by clicking the next link below!
