CYCI 67 Mother's Day Edition

Hey there! Happy Early Mother's Day to the moms of all kinds out there! The Stampin' Up! Retirement list came out this past week! There was a lot that surprised me and some not so much! Needless to say I resisted all temptations to purchase anything! Taryn, my 5 year old daughter and also the youngest got registered for kindergarten on Friday. It really is bittersweet! Maybe once she is in school I  can become the card making giant that my CYCI Design Team leader is...

So as an homage to the retired items on the list this week I decided to create an entire card with mainly "Vintage" Stampin' Up! goodies... I will say that there was still some current stuff... But for the most part it was vintage.
I started my Tri Shutter card with a base of Soft Suede Card stock. The mattes used are in Pool Party, So Saffron and Brushed Gold Card Stock. The DSP I used is called Attic Boutique. I wish I bought this in a hoarding amount!! However, I received it in a lot I purchased on Facebook.
The first panel was stamped with "Happy Mother's Day" from the stamp set Wonderful Mother (Vintage) in Versamark and heat embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. I accented this with Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon (Vintage), then added some cute little Vanilla Roses from Adorning Accents (Vintage). The center panel was stamped in the lovely vine pattern from Creative Elements (Vintage) in Soft Sky. I then stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder the sentiment from Wonderful Mother. My last little panel was made heat embossing "To A Wonderful Mother" and finished off with another Vanilla Rose.
I didn't feel like I had done enough so below I used the NEW Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to make a little gift bag of sorts. I heat embossed the sentiment in Gold Stampin' Emboss powder and thin embellished the bag with a Very Vanilla Flower, with a little Pretty in Pink and Crocheted Ribbon sash! What mother wouldn't want this little cutie!?
I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!! Thank You for stopping by and don't forget to enter your Mother's Day Creations on Can You Case It? this week!!!

CYCI #66 Designers Choice Challenge

Hey there! This week has been crazy with kids, school, horses and of course a little me time!
It is my second week on the Design Team for CYCI and I must say I think my card last week was easier to figure out! Sometimes I have a way of OVER thinking my cards, and other times it is a total card making epiphany...  While discussing with Justin what I should do this week we both kept saying "Barb Wire and Roses". Because you will learn, that is me!

This beautiful card started with a standard A2 Base in Basic Black Card Stock matted with the Brushed Gold Card Stock, with a finishing layer of Very Vanilla Card Stock stamped with the background stamp I Love Lace in Memento Tuxedo Black. I then stamped the barb wire from the set Yee-Haw using Versamark then heat embossed it in Stampin' Emboss Gold Powder and used  the coordinating die from Dies By Dave. The pretty Brushed Gold Card Stock label was made by fussy cutting one of the Fun Frames Embossing Folders out with our Paper Snips. The sentiment is from the Unity Stamp Company set called Day Made I heat embossed it with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder. Yes, I know the Very Vanilla Flower Trim is retired!! But I have a huge stash thanks to Tina Riddle and Justin Krieger! My finishing touch was putting pearls on the I Love Lace background as well as on the barbwire!

Thank you all for stopping by! Make sure you check out my new team mates Tina Riddle, Maggie Mata and Holly Stene!! I am so lucky to be surrounded by so much creativity!!
Have a great rest of your weekend!

CYCI#65 A Clean and Quick Challenge Best Day Ever

Blessed Sunday to you! I am Andrea Tracy-Tucker one of the NEW members of the CYCI Design Team! I am a happily married (10 years), mother of 3 that lives on the rural eastern plains of Colorado! I enjoy my craft room, being outside with family and riding our horses... I am so excited to be on this team it is truly an honor.

You will learn in future challenges that "Clean and Quick" really isn't an aesthetic you will see a lot from me! I am more of a shabby chic kind of girl. After all, I do wear cowgirl boots and jeans on most days!

So here is my take on CYCI #65!!
I started with a beautiful base of Bermuda Bay Card Stock with a matte of Night of Navy. I then took my second layer of Whisper White and used the stamp set Work of Art, I stamped the large "swoosh" in Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy and Tangelo Twist. I really was done with the set until I realized I smudged it.. So I stamped the smaller "smudge" in Night of Navy. I know that you can't really order it now because Sale-A-Bration is over, but I hadn't used my Best Day Ever stamp set yet... I used my Embossing Buddy then stamped with Versamark "Best. Day. Ever." then used White Stampin' Emboss powder, and Heat Tool to create the sentiment. I finished this off with Accessory Pack that was also available during Sale-A-Bration!

Well there you have it my version of a Clean and Quick! I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Eva Bussom and Justin Krieger for this amazing Design Team opportunity!
Have a great end to your weekend!

OSAT Mothers Day Blog Hop

Hello to you all! Welcome to our second month of OSAT Blog Hoppers.  Happy early Mother's Day to all of our mothers of all sorts out there... Most of you probably came from Elizabeth Thatcher's blog! She really does amazing stuff! This month's blog hop features a card and project perfect for that special someone in your life.
So imagine my surprise to find burlap in bright colors in 12 x 12 sheets (DCWV) at Michaels!!! I had to figure out a way to incorporate that with this hop... So Modge Podge, Burlap and I became great friends!!
Let me first give you the scoop on my basket. I used the new Stampin' Up! Berry Basket Die and stamped it out using the Hardwood Stamp in Soft Suede ink onto a Sahara Sand Card Stock. I then sponge daubed the ink to give somewhat of a barn wood feel. The lacey trim under the scallop edge is the Venetian Crochet Trim. I finished the outside of this basket using a retired lace ribbon from Stampin' Up! The flowers were made using the bright DCWV Burlap stack. I treated them with Modge Podge and ran them through my Big Shot with the Spiral Flower Die. I used two of the die cuts on each flower to get a fuller look. To finish off my burlap bouquet I dug out my retired Blossom Builder Punch to make some cute little leaves out of Pear Pizzazz Card Stock and rubbed the edges with the Soft Suede Ink to give them a more weathered look.
It really is a perfect little basket of flowers for mom!
I went in to make this card with the idea that it NEEDED to coordinate with my flower basket (which wasn't made yet). I am a shabby chic, barbwire and roses kind of girl... The card started with a beautiful base of Bermuda Bay Card Stock rubbed on the edges with Soft Suede ink. Like the basket I  stamped the Hardwood Stamp in Soft Suede ink onto Sahara Sand Card Stock and then sponged the ink to give it the same barn wood look as the basket. Now the details... I used the Deco Label Framelits to make the sentiment. I first stamped it in Soft Suede on Whisper White using the I Love Lace background stamp. To finish this label off I managed to find some self adhesive velum that I stamped the sentiment from the Feel Goods stamp set in Versamark and then heat embossed in the metallic copper color. The trim on the bottom was created using the 1 1/4 inch Burlap ribbon with an overlay of crocheted trim that is vintage Stampin' Up! and fastened by a cute off white ribbon slide/brad that I had in my stash. My finishing touches for this card were the Strawberry Slush stamped butterfly using the Butterfly Basics set and coordinating Thinlits. I topped it off with the hearts from Wooden Elements Embellishments...

Thank You all for stopping by!! Make sure you take the time to check out EVERYONE on the hop!! Megan Thompson is next!! Have a fabulous Thursday!
