Can I get a Yee Haw?

Hey there, Hi there!! It seems that lately life keeps getting in the way of my daily goal of blogging a card I make! I must say there has been a lot going on in our sleepy little town on the eastern plains of Colorado... As many of you know I run a Facebook group with Tina Riddle who is also a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. It is called One Stamp At A Time Cards & More. Recently a member posted a great tutorial to make this Tri Shutter Fold Card (tutorial in link)... I remembered trying to do one as a newbie a couple of years ago and got super frustrated... I must say that with the new Stampin' Trimmer this card was VERY easy to make... So this was the third one I have made in the last two days, but it is by far the best of all... Because as I made my first and second one the wheels of creativity went into high gear...

Well lets get our boots dirty with the juicy details...
The Tri Shutter Fold base was cut and scored in Crumb Cake CS using the Stampin' Trimmer!! I am telling you now, this trimmer made ALL the difference! I then used the tutorial to kind of lay out my layers of contrasting card stock in Soft Sky and Early Espresso, and finished each panel off with Something Borrowed DSP. Now the fun begins! I obviously have an obsession with this great photopolymer set Yee-Haw, well imagine my surprise when I found out that someone had made dies to go with the set! The hat, barb wire, and horseshoes were made by stamping them in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake and Soft Sky card stock and using the dies I purchased from Dies By Dave. While the Boot is from the set Bootiful Occasions stamped in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake, Dave also has a set of dies for that stamp set as well... The Cowgirl I fussy cut out and added to the "Hooray" Panel with Linen thread, the next panel used a die from the above set cutting out the lariat that was stamped in Early Espresso and used to wrap around the Whisper White Panel with Yee Haw stamped in Early Espresso... I trimmed the ends off the barb wire and used them on the last stamped panel where I used the "Kick Up Your heels!" from Bootiful Occasions...

Hope you enjoy my post today! I am off to feed the horses!!
Have a blessed day!

"For You"

Hey there!! I know it is been a couple weeks! I had been busy making 70, yes I said 70 Valentines for the kids and their classmates!! I will be sure to post a picture tomorrow because they really did turn out darling. So lets just say 70 Fry Boxes, 70 tags ALL colored by ME!!! I think I now have carpal tunnel... Today I woke up with a daunting decision at hand "To Stamp or To be Domestic?"... I figured since I knew exactly what it was I wanted to make, it shouldn't take that long... I mean seriously, two weeks with this idea floating around in my head... I was going to explode if I didn't make it!!!

Today's card is a beautiful blend of some of my favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets and Framelits using some of my favorite colors.
I began with a standard A2 Base of Crumb Cake Card Stock with a matted layer using Blushing Bride and a piece of the Something Borrowed DSP. I then used our Chalk Talk Clear Mount stamp set and stamped the large tag in Crumb Cake Ink onto the Blushing Bride Card Stock and ran it through the Big Shot using the coordinating Framelit from the Chalk Talk Framelit set. The next little tag was made using the same Framelit set and was cut using the Brushed Gold Cardstock. The final little tag was made using the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and Framelits stamped with Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White Card Stock. Now, for the final touches. I stamped the butterfly from Butterfly Basics in Versamark and heat embossed it using Gold Stampin' Emboss powder. I then cut it out using the coordinating Thinlit using the Butterfly Thinlits Dies... The small rose embellishment is from the Artisan Embellishment kit and it is holding the "For You" Itty Bitty Banner down... I gave this card some final touches using the Blushing Bride Chevron Ribbon and Linen Thread as a tag topper and the Sahara Sand Lace Trim at the bottom... WOW!!! Can you believe this was floating through my head??? Hope you love it as much I do! Have a blessed day!
