Rootin' Tootin' Birthday!!

Happy Friday to you all!! I am feeling pretty accomplished having blogged 3 days in a row!!
Today's card was made with the idea that A. I wanted to do a masculine birthday card and B. I wanted to use the Hardwood background stamp... If you know me personally I am a boots, jeans and horses kind of girl! After some tweaking and much over thinking I finally came up with "Rootin' Tootin' Birthday"...  So here is the juicy details...

I got this rodeo started with a base of Cherry Cobbler card-stock folded landscape style in a standard A2 size. The next matted layer is the Crumb Cake card-stock stamped with Hardwood in Baked Brown Sugar ink. I then finger sponged the edges with Baked Brown Sugar as well to give it a more rustic/distressed look. I then wrapped the Natural Chevron 5/8" ribbon and attached it to the Hardwood layer using Liquid Multipurpose glue. The "Rootin' Tootin Birthday" is from the photopolymer set Yee-Haw as well as the horseshoes! I stamped Rootin' Tootin' and the horseshoes in Baked Brown Sugar on the Very Vanilla card-stock. I then used Versamark and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat embossed the "Birthday" part of the sentiment. This layer was matted with the Cherry Cobbler card-stock that was used for the base. I finished off the Very Vanilla by finger sponging the edges with Baked Brown Sugar. Last but certainly not least the boot! This cute little cowboy boot is out of our set Bootiful Occasions. I again used Versamark and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Emboss Powder, stamped onto the Crumb Cake cardstock, heat embossed and then fussy cut the cowboy boot and gave it little pop using Stampin' Dimensionals...Whew!!! Just describing all of this makes me want a sarsaparilla!!
I hope you enjoyed my "Rootin' Tootin' Birthday" card. Have a fabulous family filled weekend! I know I will be! Catch y'all on Monday!

Big Day Party!

Hey there, Hi there! I was feeling inspired and encouraged by the feedback I received on yesterdays post. So today I went to my happy place with the intention of making two of the same card as I usually do. One to be my guinea pig so to speak and the other to be my final draft! Well instead I ended up doing two different styles using all the same stuff!! They are Birthday Cards and it looks like the party is happening on the card!! No sketch or anything for this one, came straight from my melon... Kind of funny if you think about it because the base to these cards is Melon Mambo.

So both of these cheerful cards started with a standard A2 base in Melon Mambo card stock. The top card in a landscape style and the bottom in a portrait style. I matted this bright stripe from the Sweet Taffy DSP as my next layer. I then used the Top Note Bigz Die and cut two of them out of Daffodil Delight card stock. Obviously the one on the landscape card was laid out a little differently... I then heat embossed the sentiment and cake from "Big Day" out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog in White Stampin' Emboss Powder. On the landscape card I decided to use our new Bow Builder Punch in Melon Mambo on the bottom... The finishing touch on this card is a pennant banner using Old Olive Bakers Twine with stamped pennants using the Playful Pennants stamp set and Petite Pennant Builder Punch in Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie... The bottom card was a little different. I took the twine between the sentiment and cake and tied a cute little bow with Old Olive Baker's Twine in the center. Again the pennants were made using the Playful Pennants stamp set in Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo and Petite Pennant Builder Punch.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by! Two days in row!!! On to tomorrow!

Happy Sale-A-Bration!!!

Happy belated New Year to you all!!
So let me just explain my lack of blogging. Our family moved to a new house over the holidays! We spent our first night in the new house on Christmas Eve! Thank heavens Santa got our change of address! Then my Granddad on my mothers side took a bad fall, we lost him New Years Night! I have been cleaning, folding, unpacking (mainly the crafty space) and still trying to keep up with every day chores... It has not been easy! I have found that my juices are flowing first thing in the morning lately so as soon as the kids are on the bus, this Mother Tucker has been stamping!
Let me just say that today's card started with some help of a sketch at Operation Write Home-Gift Boxes . We also have this as a weekly challenge on our group One Stamp At A Time Cards & More on Facebook. So I decided to try it out using some of my new toys!!

So I am calling this card Happy Sale-A-Bration!
I started with a standard A2 Base in Calypso Coral Card stock with an embossed matted layer in Coastal Cabana Card Stock using the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I then cut Best Year Ever DSP out of the Sale-A Bration Catalog (Free if you spend $50) to the dimensions given in the sketch found in the above link. The cute little bow was made using our new Bow Builder Punch and I cut a 1/4 inch strip of Calypso Coral Card Stock to go with the bow. Last but not least, I heat embossed in White Stampin' Emboss Powder "Happy Birthday" from the Big Day Stamp set also out of the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Bright, Cheery and Fun!!
